Mount Singai (1843 ft or 562 m) is located between Bau and Matang area. The locals usually visit this place on weekends to climb the long fleet of stairs till the top. The Catholic Memorial & Pilgrimage centre is located in the middle of this small mountain.
Going to this place is like a renewal of faith. Not only one needs to walk uphill for more than 30 minutes, but once you get to the centre the feeling of fresh air and lush, green scenery that surrounds the place greets you with a calm and peaceful feeling. All you hear is the sound of the small jungle creatures that was left to live undisturbed.
Right before entering the pathway to CMPC. Notice the abundance of plastic bags on the left? Visitors are encouraged to bring as much as they can filled the bags with sand while walking up to the centre to help with the completions of the new complex.
In 1885, a small chapel was built at the site of the current CMPC. However, when the place was left behind following the migration of the people to the foothill, it was the turned into a pilgrimage centre. It was officially opened and blessed in November 1999. Since then, the places have been visited regularly by Catholic and others Christian beliefs and hosted various spiritual events and activities.

Semenggoh Eco - tour gives you the opportunity to go up close with the surroundings of the Orangutans within Semenggoh Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre itself. The park guide(s) will take you into the orangutan habitat and also the area where they keep the orangutans for close examinations when they first arrive into the centre.

This Eco - tour is self explanatory. View the itinerary and if you are interested, inform us a month beforehand so that we can arrange with Sarawak Forestry and plan your transportation and accommodation.

The Heart2Heart with Orangutans is a unique conservation initiative run by Sarawak Forestry in collaboration with the Sarawak Convention Bureau. It is a one-day program which allows participants to actively participate in orangutans rehabilitation at Matang Wildlife Cantre and Semenggoh Wildlife Centre.

Participants will have a chance to learn from a dedicated team of experts from Sarawak Forestry about the challenges of orangutan rehabilitation and related work at the centres. At the end of the program, all participants will be given a certificate of participation to acknowledge their contributions to Sarawak's orangutan rehabilitation program.
