SEMENGGOH ORANG UTAN REHABILITATION CENTRE
Depart your hotel to visit the Semenggoh Nature Reserve. The Semenggoh Wildlife Centre was established in 1975 to care for wild animals which have either been found injured in the forest, orphaned, or were previously kept as illegal pets. The centre is situated within the boundaries of the Semenggoh Nature Reserve, approximately 24 km from Kuching. The entire facility occupies an area of 740 acres, the only remaining green belt near the city which acts as a sanctuary for Orang Utans.
Take a walk on the trails and try to spot semi-wild Orang Utans. There are feeding times scheduled everyday at the feeding platform. However always bear in mind that the main aim of the Centre is to return these animals back into their habitat. Do not be disappointed if you do not see any roaming the jungles or coming back to feed as this means they are able to forage on their own and do not need human assistance.
Transfer back to your hotel after the tour.
